(AUGUSTA, GA) – June 4, 2018 – The 2018 Southeast Startup Challenge Summit, funded by the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation will take place June 18, 2018 at the Mercer Innovation Center in Macon, Ga. The Summit is an event that will bring together entrepreneurs, researchers and public health policy experts to form actionable successes for Georgia communities.


The summit’s main highlight will be the pitch competition, which features ten startups that will compete for $5,000 in cash and $20,000 in services to build their public health company. Other summit highlights include a community health panel and summit expo featuring the ten startups slated to present during the summit’s pitch competition.

Summit pitch competition judges include Peter Buckley, a Director of CSR Angels, LLC, an angel investing group based in Aiken, SC, Bob Easter lead for Central Piedmont Investment Group, an angel group whose first fund has successfully invested over $500K in ventures throughout Georgia and Ed Jenkins, an inventor having lead cross-functional R&D teams in the US and India for Johnson & Johnson.


This summit is the premier gathering of public health officials, economic development leaders, investors, thought leaders and collaborative workspaces all focused on the intersection of public health and inclusive startup ecosystem building in mid-sized cities around the state of Georgia.
